I finally got around to turning my Metropolitan Museum of Art admission buttons into useful souvenir refrigerator magnets. I simply glued a small, round magnet onto the back of each button. Yes, they’re metal and the magnets would have stayed attached without glue, but they would have also popped right off the magnets when anyone picked them up off the fridge.
Points for using junk-drawer souvenirs that would have eventually been thrown away.
And more points for using the glue gun without incident.
Well aren’t you the smart one π
Oh naughty girl, you were supposed to return those! I kept mine too, I’ll keep your secret π great idea!
I may have returned them had I remembered. I’m that person wearing a “Hi, My Name Is” tag at the bar four hours after the conference has ended. I am apparently unaware of things attached to my shirt.
I did the same thing with a bunch of Jones Natural juice lids. They have these weird symbols on the bottom of them, and I thought they’d make nice magnets. I also bought a sheet of the self-adhesive magnet and I made a bunch of magnets for my desk at work. I have everything from family photos to diagrams showing how to distinguish cuts of pork.
We are kindred souls. I’ll have to do a compilation photo of all the objects I’ve glued magnets onto. Bottle caps, suitcase tags …
Awesome. Note to self – get glue gun.
